Which is the first wonders of the World?
1) Petra, Jordan
This is the largest desert in the Earth, spanning 5,820 square miles and Wonders of the World which can be found just west of Petra, Jordan. It is often referred to as the Red Sea of Arabia when it gets hot and dry. Its harshness keeps wildlife away and attracts tourists, but it looks so attractive and exotic that we find ourselves drawn to these parts of nature. Not only do you get the chance to explore and admire the beautiful landscape here, but you can also enjoy relaxing pool parties and spa treatments, watching concerts, shopping, learning Arabic or taking classes.
It seems amazing to learn language and culture from someone else! Visit Jordan Tourism to make your trip that extra special, learn more about travel, religion and language and discover more than a thousand gorgeous spots to have fun. And don’t forget about tours! The Petra River Wildlife Sanctuary offers both natural and man-made habitats for birds and animals to walk freely. It is quite simply one of the most Wonders of the World on earth, not because of anything you can do but because of the diversity that exists.
2) Suez Canal (Egypt, Côte d’Ivoire, Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, Romania).
The Suez Canal is an international waterway that connects three countries: Egypt with the Mediterranean Sea and Europe. It is said that the canal was built by the British under Balfour Beatrice and Henry VIII. Now one hour in the middle of Cairo makes me believe that you could spend months there without noticing. From Egyptian tombs to Roman mosaics, here you’ll get to learn something new every month. If there is more excitement in the area than I can picture, look no further than the Alexandria Museum of Civilization which is open daily and features unique exhibits Remember to take a couple photographs as well! Check out our tips page for great photography and photo galleries near your hotel.
3) Machu Picchu, Peru
On December 2, 2013 the first part of the National Park in Machu Picchu in Peru went on public land. This park is called Vasa Muñoz. As you drive past the parking lots with signs saying “No dogs”, don’t worry. Dogs are allowed to sit outside the gates of the park and eat a lot of food. But I have never seen a big dog in my entire life! What the locals call it a dog park is absolutely ridiculous. Why would they want any part of the park? Is it to keep wild horses out?
Did the local government remove the roads that lead to the park? Are they afraid of being deported? Can they even count? Do you imagine walking around, playing volleyball, or hiking on those hills? No. You have to drive the same way to everywhere. While I do feel for the locals who have been trapped to these kinds of rules I truly believe that the park is worth seeing even if only because of the amazing pictures and videos that you can create when you take a couple of hours of Wonders of the World. At least the monkeys on the park won’t get eaten, I hope.
4) Grand Prismatic Spring, Slovenia
This spring has the Guinness Wonders of the World Record for its biggest rainstorm which lasts 24 hours straight! This isn’t unusual since many times of extreme weather events occur in this area. Some areas are prone to heavy snowfall and strong winds from summer through winter. During spring break you can see the snow fall down on the ground at night and sometimes during storms it rains for days on end. If you love outdoor adventures and exploring different trails, then Grand Prismatic Spring certainly does put that dream in reach. Just be prepared for cold temperatures at nights and even colder temperatures during the daytime.
Your car may break down and need repairs, and you must travel to your destination if you don’t have transportation available. To prevent problems the National parks office has installed alarms throughout the park. If you feel stuck and don’t have a car or transportation, or you really don’t care about getting from one place to another, then skip above. Go to a nearby airport and ask for help. Then take an Uber home and grab a bath. Get ready to go cold turkey and stay warm.
5) Acapulco Zoo, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
The Academy of Natural Sciences and Nature Conservation Museum in the United States calls Acapulco Zoo one of the “10 Amazing Botanical Gardens”. This zoo is owned and operated by the American Association for the Advancement of Science. It is located on the southeast coast of Nicaragua. You can either stay overnight and take an afternoon flight or opt to take a bus or taxi to the zoo starting at 1 AM. Either way you will arrive at 3 PM.
After checking in at the entrance you are sent to a large enclosure with hundreds of monkeys. Each cage holds between 60 and 70 monkeys each separated by glass panels and covered over with thick mesh. Imagine looking around at these little creatures. Seeing them for the first time? A whole day? Or just five minutes? There is plenty of space for the animals to roam, especially when you are in smaller communities.
